What is PEPPOL BIS 3.0 and How Does It Work in the Webplanex App/Plugin?

PEPPOL BIS 3.0 is a standardized electronic invoicing format used within the PEPPOL network for secure business document exchange. PEPPOL stands for:

Pan-European Public Procurement OnLine

Although it started in Europe, PEPPOL is now used by businesses and governments around the world for electronic invoicing.

What is BIS?

BIS stands for :Business Interoperability Specifications
It defines how invoices and other business documents should be structured when exchanged through the PEPPOL network.

PEPPOL Endpoint Scheme (EAS)
The Endpoint Scheme identifies the type of identifier being used.

PEPPOL Endpoint ID
A PEPPOL Endpoint ID uniquely identifies a business within the PEPPOL network.

How to Enable PEPPOL BIS 3.0 E-Invoices

First, in the Settings section, add your VAT Number and other store details such as:

  • Country Code
  • State Code
  • Postcode / ZIP
  • City

Follow these steps to enable PEPPOL BIS 3.0 invoices:

  • Go to the App Settings page.
  • Open the E-Invoice tab.
  • Enable B2B Invoice Implementation - Checkout Page.
  • In the Preferred Syntax section, select PEPPOL BIS 3.0.
  • Enter your PEPPOL Endpoint ID.and select Peppol Endpoint Scheme (EAS)
  • Click Save to apply the changes.

Once enabled, the app will generate B2B e-invoices in the PEPPOL BIS 3.0 format.

i. You can add the Peppol Endpoint ID and VAT Number from the Customer section.

Go to Customer section-> click on Pencil icon from you can see the pop-up there you can put your customer peppol Endpoint Id

Using PEPPOL Invoices

Once PEPPOL BIS 3.0 is enabled:

  • Customers can enter their VAT Number and PEPPOL Endpoint ID during checkout.

  • View the saved Peppol Endpoint ID and VAT Number directly on the WooCommerce Order Page.

Understanding Tax Classifications

The Taxes section allows you to define how taxes are applied and reported in generated UBL / PEPPOL invoices.

1. Standard Rate

A Standard Rate is the normal tax rate applied to most goods and services. Use this category when products or services are subject to the regular tax rate in your country.

Examples:

  • Products
  • Clothing
  • Furniture

Here you can select:

  • Tax Scheme
  • Tax Category
  • Reason

2. Reduced Rate

A Reduced Rate is a lower tax rate applied to specific goods or services that receive tax benefits under local regulations. Use this category when government regulations allow a lower tax rate than the standard rate.

Examples:

  • Medicines
  • Essential Food Items
  • Books

Here you can select:

  • Tax Scheme
  • Tax Category
  • Reason

3. Zero Rate

A Zero Rate means the tax percentage is 0%, but the transaction is still considered a taxable supply.

Here you can select:

  • Tax Scheme
  • Tax Category
  • Reason

How can you Access the File and check Preview ?

  • The entered details will be included in the generated PEPPOL invoice.
  • PEPPOL-format invoices will be available from the Order Page.

  • Preview of the Peppol file

View the saved Peppol Endpoint ID and VAT Number directly on the WooCommerce Order Page.
