Use this guide to show your shipping carrier on the WooCommerce checkout page. When the carrier is added, your customers can see live shipping rates while placing an order.

Step : 1 - Turn ON "Show on Checkout" in WebPlanex Invoices

Go to WebPlanex Invoices → click Shipping in the top menu. You will see the Shipping Carriers page. Click on the any carrier

A popup will open. Make sure the Show on Checkout toggle is ON.

 Important:

  • If this toggle is OFF, the carrier will not show in the WooCommerce Shipping tab, and its rates will not show on the checkout page.

Step : 2 - Open WooCommerce Settings

In your WordPress dashboard, go to WooCommerce → click Settings.

Step : 3 - Open the Shipping Zone

Click the Shipping tab. You will see a list of your shipping zones. Click Edit next to the zone where you want to show the carrier.

Step : 4 - Click "Add shipping method"

The zone page will open. Scroll down to the Shipping methods section and click the Add shipping method button.

Step : 5 - Select Your Carrier

A popup called Create shipping method will open. Select your carrier from the list. For example, select Webplanex - Shipping Rate Provider - FedEx, then click Continue.

Want to add another carrier?
You can also add other carriers like UPS, USPS and more. Just follow these steps:

  1. Integrate the carrier in the WebPlanex Invoices site (Shipping → Shipping Carriers).
  2. Make sure Show on Checkout is ON for that carrier (Step 1).
  3. Come back to this popup. The new carrier will now show in the list. Select it and click Continue.

Note: Only the carriers that are integrated in WebPlanex Invoices and have Show on Checkout ON will show in this popup.

Step : 6 - Carrier Added Successfully

Your carrier is now added to the zone. You will see Webplanex - FedEx in the list of shipping methods. It fetches live shipping rates from the carrier.

Step : 7 - Enable or Disable the Carrier

This Enabled toggle is a WooCommerce setting. It is not from the WebPlanex Invoices site. You can find it in WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping → your zone

Use the toggle next to the carrier to control it.

  • Toggle ON → The carrier rates will show on the checkout page.
  • Toggle OFF → Click Save changes, and the carrier rates will not show on the checkout page.

Note: There are two different toggles, so do not confuse them:

  • Show on Checkout is in the WebPlanex Invoices site. It decides if the carrier can be added in WooCommerce.
  • Enabled is in WooCommerce. It decides if the carrier rates show on the checkout page.

Step : 8 - Add Weight and Dimensions to Your Products

The carrier needs the weight and size of your product to calculate the shipping rate. If you do not fill these, the rate will not come correctly on the checkout page.

  • Open the Products page

In your WordPress dashboard, go to Products → All Products.

  • Open a product and click the Shipping tab

Click on any product to open its Edit product page. Scroll down to the Product data section. On the left side, click the Shipping tab.

  • Fill in the weight and dimensions

  1. Enter the Weight.
  2. Enter the Dimensions: length, width and height.
  3. Then click Update to save the product.

Step : 9 - See the Carrier Rate on the Checkout Page

Now your carrier is ready. Go to your store's Checkout page and enter the shipping address (country, state, city and ZIP code).

Under Shipping options, your customer will see the live carrier rate along with your other shipping methods. For example, FedEx - FedEx Ground with its rate is shown in the list below.

Note:

  • The rate is calculated live from the carrier, based on the customer's address.
  • If you do not see the carrier here, check these two things:
    1. Show on Checkout is ON in WebPlanex Invoices (Step 1).
    2. The Enabled toggle is ON for the carrier in your WooCommerce shipping zone (Step 7).
    3. Weight and Dimensions are filled in the product (Step 8).
